hablo espanol

i realize this is late, but here's some pictures from our weekend in D.C. we spent a lot of time eating good food. apparently, since the only pictures i took is of food or mackenna at five guys. ha.
i

my first time going to five guys. i didn't have high hopes cuz everyone in thousand oaks has said they hated it. but i really liked it! i didn't like the fries but the burger was yummmyy. so i'm happy there's one thing that will be in california when i come back and i'll be missing all the food places here.

then sunday lunch was at Sardi's. i got ceviche mixto. it was DELICIOUS. ahh. Sardi's is a peruvian retaraunt. one of those hole-in-the-wall-places-but-every-hispanic-goes-there-because-it's-so-good. ya. that kind of place. so we were the only whit people there. and everyone was looking at us like, well like we were the only white people there. i wanted to just yell "¡soy hispánico!" well at least we were with their friends and the wife is mexican so we spoke to everyone in spanish. mwahaha! i ordered my food en espanol too! i felt super cool. and not white :)
then we went to their other friend's house and they served us dinner. the dad is russian and the mom served a mission in russia. or something. so we ate in courses. and everything was different, interesting but tasty food. first was soup. with beets and dill. gross. but it was good. ha. then vegetables and peas. i felt bad cuz i said don't like beets or cucumbers and tomatoes or peas. oh well. i ate the soup at least. then we had rice and meatloaf balls. you're gonna say "it's called meatballs" but it was different ha. and it was delicious. i was so stuffed! seriously i've never eaten so much food in one day. well at least not ever since living here, since i usually starve. then dessert was brownie/cake with rasberry/chocolate ice cream. SOOO delicious!! and to finish it off, 2 fresh cups of herbal tea. man i should marry a russian! they were so cool and it was nice to see that kids really can be behaved and quiet! their kids were the best! reminded me why i want kids ahaha.
so it was a tasty weekend. fun? not really. because i always end up having to take care of the kids while the adults sit at the table and talk and are oblivious to the fact that their kids are running around the restaraunt and screaming and even climbing on the sacks of potatoes at five guys. i mean really people. come on.

so who can count how many times i said delicious, tasty, or yummy in this post? ahaha
