so as you can see i'm in the middle of changing this blog up. changed the title and working on changing the theme. yay! it's only taken like three weeks! ha! anyway, i've named my blog la dulce vita because i want to explore this new part of my life with an open mind so i can enjoy every single part of it. i want to see and experience the sweetness in everything and just have a new and positive outlook on life! yayaya, this sounds suuuuper cheesy, but it's just what i want with life these days. i want to continue to share my adventures and pictures of them as well. along with things that inspire me everyday and things i love. just like before but minus being a nanny! i will try to keep it as updated as i did in Philly, but there are so many new distractions here! i'll do my best :) i'm excited to start this part of my life! and to share it with all of you! i hope it doesn't get too boring though haha!

alright, so i'm having troubles deciding what to do about my blog. i've thought about making a new one. or maybe making a tumblr. or maybe both. or keep this blog and just change it? i've already started making a tumblr but i'm not totally sold on it. i need to figure it out more before deciding if i like it i guess. i have some new ideas for a blog, but i don't want to just lose all the stuff on this blog. so i'm not sure yet. maybe i'll just start trying to change things up and see what happens. whew! sorry for the hiatus and super lame posts lately :/

Lately

I know, I'm such a slacker. I've just been really distracted with everything that goes on here. But anyway, im finally over the jet lag! I'm not completely unpacked yet, but I'm working on it. I got my new computer but haven't used it much yet. I left my camera on the east coast! So I haven't found much use for the computer yet haha. I want to put up all the pictures on my camera I haven't posted yet but I think that will have to wait...maybe even until I start up my new blog (!)
So last weekend everyone was in town for brianna's graduation. It was pretty fun even if my dad ruined it....I've caught up with a few of my friends and have plans with a bunch of other ones! I love having friends again!! :)
I think that's pretty much all that has happened...nothing very exciting. But here are some pictures! :)

We celebrated mother's day on Sunday since we were all there, and made Costa Vida salads! Yumm!
And I had to take a bunch of pictures of the palm trees I've missed so much! :)

Home sweet California

(This was supposed to be posted in THURSDAY but Blogger wouldn't let me post anything! Booo)
So I'm finally home in sunny California :) I am oh so happy. It feels a bit strange, but still good :) first thing I did was go shopping with my mom! Well, first we went to titos tacos! Yumm!!! Then we got lost on the way to long beach. Then picked up kayla then went home! Home sweet home :) it doesn't feel any different. Like I never left. But I know once I start seeing my friends it will seem like everything has changed. I don't know if that makes sense.
But anyway, its a bit weird being in California and on the west coast now. It's so much different than the east. The people, the mountains, the houses, the food, and there are like no trees here! Haha it feels like I've been gone for so long. Well ok, it doesn't seem like anything has changed, but it actually does seem a little different. Just cuz I've been living somewhere so different for so long I guess. Does anyone get what I'm saying? Haha
Anyway, I've spent way too much money in that last two days than I should have. Booo. I need to stop.
Brianna's graduation from USC is tomorrow. Woo!
AND I developed my holga film!! Some turned out lame but there are a few I really like and hopefully can share on here soon. I'm planning on getting a new computer in the next couple of days. Yay!! UNFORTUNATELY I left my camera in Maryland at my uncle's house!! :( so I don't know how long it'll be until I have it. Sheesh. My luck is horrible!
And last thing....I'm also planning on  making a new blog since this one has been about my time as a nanny, which I'm not doing anymore!
I will keep you all posted on everything :)

Mamacita!

Technically its not mother's day over here on the east coast anymore but l I still wanted to do a little post for my mama.(And all the mamas out there!) I would say its the toughest, most important, and most rewarding job out there. I'm so grateful for my mom, she is seriously amazing! Everything she does is for her kids; plus she does it all on her own. I didn't used to appreciate it as much as I do now (she knows what I mean). It's amazing that as horrible as I can be, she still always loves me. As bad of a daughter as I've been at times, she's always been an amazing mother...even if I didn't see it at the time. But now I definitely do see it and love her for it. I can't wait to come home on Wednesday and to celebrate mothers day with her and all my siblings :) love you mommy!!

Adventuring

Yesterday we went on a little adventure after we picked holden up from school. We walked to the goose pond that we love. And got to see baby geese! And I was almost attacked a few times when I got too close, trying to get a good picture hehe...those geese are feisty!!
Then we followed a path I had never been on. I was surprised I never knew about it! It led under the train tracks and alongside the stream/canal/river. Apparently that pond isn't just a pond! Haha.
Anyway, from the path, we found another one that lead into a grove of trees (idk any other noun for it). It was a little swampy and looked like a place teenagers would hang out, if you know what I mean. Holden thought it used to be a campground because there was a burnt up trash can and sticks, those kind of things.
There was also an old train track, covered in plants and tree branches (I felt like I was in narnia or something). When I tried to get a good picture of it, I turned around and almost stepped on a snake!! Oh my goodness. So we bailed real quick after that haha.
we continued on the original path for a while then turned around when I realized it probably wasn't going to come to an end anytime soon. From there we headed home and the kids started complaining like crazy. Mostly mackenna at first (never bringing her on an adventure again!) then holden started getting super tired of walking and had to continue on like a snail. I guess this is just how kids are. Plus it wasn't exactly cool out either. Our cheeks were definitely red by the time we got home.
Oh and I finished my first roll of holga film!!! I'll develop it when I get home to Cali NEXT WEEK!!! ahhhh!!!
I'm so ready to go home but I will definitely miss it here! I'm already missing New York like crazy! :(

I've decided....

I want to get married in Bali. Yup. It's gonna happen. What a dream. It's so beautiful there. Well ok maybe its more reasonable to just go there for the honeymoon. I'm ok with that.
The Oracle Fox inspired me. She got married there a year ago and wore a Sass & Bide dress (!!) and had the most PERFECT beach wedding.
