so Friday me Carrie and mackenna went to the outlet malls but only got to go to forever 21 and h&m since we had to pick Holden up in like 2 and a half hours. after we picked him up, we drove to Trenton NJ. becauseee Holden was supposed to go to Disney on Ice for a field trip on Thursday, but school was cancelled. so they got their tickets, and LUCKY US we got to buy tickets and go Friday night. no that wasn't sarcasm. i was rally excited. I've always wanted to go to Disney on Ice! and it was Princess Classics :) so we went down and bought our tickets then came home and ate food or whatever. a few hours later, we went back to NJ for the show. it was soo good :) i paid more attention to the costumes than the choreography hahha. and i thought about how i would've designed them. and i took about a million pictures. then on the way home Holden was THE brat of allll brats. it gave me a headache and made me want to scream. ughhh.
Saturday, Steven took Holden to his first ice skating lesson. he did good so we all went to Friendly's after.
I'm pretty sure that's all the exciting stuff we did this weekend. it's only Monday and i already can't remember.

p.s. it's February! (January went by soo fast!) I'm so excited for this month. three birthdays, NEW YORK FASHION WEEK, going down to D.C., then going up to Boston & NY. awww yeahhhh.

four and a half day weekend (!)

school cancelled. so much freaking snow. Steven and Holden were outside shoveling for a long time. then when we decided that we were finally going to go to Wendy's, the rest of us came outside. but they weren't even close to being done. the cars were still covered in snow and with no way out. it was so fun though. walking in the street since everywhere else you sank into the snow which was about a foot and a half (most streets are one way streets here, so it was fine). all of our neighbors (people we don't know) were out shoveling too. it felt like...Christmas or something. i can't think of what exactly it felt like. maybe more like 4th of July or Thanksgiving, when EVERYONE is out doing and celebrating the same thing. i just wanted to lay in the perfect looking snow. ahhhh. but i know that once you do it it's not as fun as it looks. only if you have super water proof clothes on...which i didn't. once we got the snow off the car, me Holden and mackenna sat in the car while Steven and Carrie finished shoveling. we jammed to the good radio station that i found and that Steven and Carrie never listen to. then after a long time we finally left.
when we got back from Wendy's, Steven had to finish shoveling the rest of our sidewalk. so instead of going inside, we all stayed outside and played in the snow. i, of course, took a bunch of pictures. we walked in the street, we went into the graveyard, we threw snowballs, and we made a snowman :) the graveyard was awesome because no one had been in there yet so it was perfect. so we got to see just how deep the snow was! and it was DEEEEP! like up to my knees in some spots! it was so sweeet. but i had to carry mackenna (because it would be impossible for her to walk in, obviously) and she is so freaking heavy now so we didn't stay in the graveyard for a long time.
Carrie started making a snowman. we helped and it looked awesome. then a snow plow almost took me out. then we finally went inside cuz it was getting dark, and i couldn't feel my toes anymore.
we watched some Glee. then i made my tuna zucchini pasta :) it was delicious, of course. but Steven and Holden stayed upstairs playing video games -__- then they came downstairs when we were done and they just ate brownies and oreos. i swear, sometimes........
anyway, Carrie found out that her school is cancelled AGAIN tomorrow!!!!! and Holden only has a 2 hour delay. YESSSS!!. all day just me mackenna and Carrie. and sleeping in AGAIN. we're gonna go shopping ahahah super dangerous for me, but what the heck. Holden won't be there so the possibilities are endless!! Carrie already has a bunch of ideas of things we can do tomorrow haha!

and then it started raining

it was still snowing when i woke up this morning. and it kept snowing till 11 30, when i had to pick up Holden, they had early dismissal because of the snow. since it wasn't very cold (because it was snowing) we decided to go play in the snow before going home. so we crossed the street to our sledding hill. the snow was finally perfect for snowballs and snowmen. me and Mackenna made a mini snowman. then i thought it looked like the Grinch! but a guy that was on the hill said it looked like Shrek hah a little while later we hurried home because Holden really had to go to the bathroom. he holds it in all day and after school every day he runs to the bathroom right when we get home. he's weird. then we had hot chocolate :)

Carrie also got to come home early! we talked in the living room while we were both on our computers. then she went to take a nap while the kids watched a movie. and then it started raining. rain and snow is seriously the worst thing! the beautiful snow turns into mush. watery icy mush. it's so disappointing. then a bit later it turned to frozen rain. apparently different than hail. then there was thunder and lightning. sweet! then it turned back to snow :) and it's still going strong. oh plus strong winds. at about 25 mph. it's snowed about 5 inches already in the past few hours. I'm excited for tomorrow! school will definitely be cancelled. and i think Steven doesn't have to go into work either. boo yah! SNOW DAYYY. plus sleeping in!!!!

i love missionaries

mackenna was obviously not into taking pictures today. and i taught holden how to do the peace sign and say "peace outtt" :)

the missionaries came over tonight. we have two really awkward missionaries in our ward so i was not looking forward to it. but luckily they were on exchanges tonight sooo a different guy came over and he was suuuperrr cooool!! anddd he's from San Bernandino andddd he knows Michael Roberts! cuz Michael trained him when he first got out here. crazyyy!!! PLUSSSS he's really cute ahahah what's with me only liking MISSIONARIES! but no, he doesn't compare to e. lee. no one does. but their personalities are the same. oh AND his companion came over last time because it was also exchanges that night, and he was from St. George....which is where Robert is on his mish! buuut they don't know each other, but still, that was cool. he was cute too -__- i think so far the only acceptably attractive guys I've seen in Philly have been missionaries....no bueno. oh, other than our waiter at the Italian restaurant yesterday. oh yess.

well anyway, the missionary that came over tonight was elder cordwell i thinkkk. i can't completely remember. but you should ask Michael about him!! he was like "i need to take a picture with you!" hahaha. he also is good friends with the Turley's and he knew who Corbin Wright is cuz Michael told him about the Wright's. ahh we had so much to talk about. it was awesomee. made my day :) and he told me it was soo nice to meet me like 5 times ;) aww yeahhh

i love to see the temple

on Saturday i got to go to the D.C. temple for my ward's youth temple trip! i guess they only go twice a year but once to D.C. and once to Manhattan. i already missed the NY trip though :(

anyway, i was kinda nervous to go cuz i was scared I'd be left out kinda, even though all the girls are super nice and always say hi to me at church. but luckily it was fine, plus the cars were assigned to us so i didn't have to worry about being left out hah.
first we went to the visitors center and ate lunch, then watched the joseph smith video. I've seen it like 4 times now, but it's still so powerful every time. then we did our session. it's way different than the LA temple. they make you wear socks and a bodysuit under the jumpsuit. i know other temples do that too, but I'm just used to the LA temple. and the font area and bathrooms are super small. you'd think they'd be pretty big since it's a big temple and a lot of people go there, but i guess not. but it's really pretty inside. and i had a really good time :)
after we went to Nando's it's like a Portuguese chicken place. it was soo bombbb! mmmm i want to go back. and we were in different cars on the way back and i was in the party car :) well it was the bishop's car, but he's super cool and has two kids my age....well not my age, but in high school. and this kid kasey was also in our car with his sister. he's totally in love with me. it's really funny. but we had fun playing games in the car for 2 and a half hours :)
then carrie was 20 minutes late picking me up from the church -__- even though i told her 30 minutes before we got there that i'd be there in 30 minutes. urgh i was so angry. whatever, it was a good day but i was superrr tired and went to bed kinda early instead of staying up to talk and play games, since their friends were staying for the weekend.

i love mackenna

she's getting really good at dressing herself...even putting her boots and big coat on! i taught her of course :)

i love when she wants to hold my hand. especially when she's scared of all the big kids at holden's school. and when she asks me to carry her. and that i'm pretty good at calming her down when she starts crying. and when she starts whining i know how to distract her so she's happy again. and the other night, when she woke up (she hasn't been sleeping well lately) she was crying and screaming upstairs and carrie was getting really frustrated with her. i was in my room, but i can hear everything in the house. and then in between sobs and heavy breathing mackenna was saying "i....want...tee..awnuhhhhh" over and over again. it was so sadddd. but it made me happy cuz she looovesss me. all i wanted to do was go upstairs and hold her and squeeeeze her :)

so i guess it's sinful to covet or whatever....

but i totalllyyy love this girl and kinda want to be her. is that bad? nahhhh

Garance is also a fashion blogger and is well known in the industry. she's from Paris but just recently moved to New York. basically living the best life ever.
i love all of them so much and am so inspired by them. definitely wouldn't mind being any of them.

nothing exciting has happened in the past few days. there wasn't any school on Monday, but i still had to babysit cuz Steven and Carrie decided to go out -__-
technically the weather has been warming up, since it's raining instead of snowing. but it's still freezing. and rain + left over snow= disgusting icy, muddy mess. and I'm BEYOND jealous and hating on everyone in California who is soaking up the sun and going to the beach in the middle of January! I'm never leaving California again!!!
I've marked all the days we have off on my calendar and I'm super excited for them. especially president's day weekend because I'm GOING TO NEW YORKKK again :D and Lawry just informed me on Monday that I'm going with them to North Carolina also! but i don't know when because he...forgot. even though he found out about it 5 minutes before he told me....oh well. just something else to look forward to! plus seeing Wicked in NY with Carrie sometime soon :) nbd.
oh and i'm finally going to the D.C. temple this Saturday for our ward's youth temple trip! so excited :)

another girl's day

me and Carrie went to a modern jazz class downtown this morning. when i first came here to Philly, i saw the city and hated it. it was so ghetto and dirty. but we had only been to the ghetto and dirty part. every other area is so cool. it's super old and reminds me of New York. i wish we would spend more time downtown (because cities are my favorite places in the world), but we don't. anyway, the dance studio was on a cool street with old brick buildings and cool salons, shops, and restaurants. i think the studio must have been an old apartment. the class was so good. the teacher was really good too. and there were a lot of people in the class. the warm up was the only part i had trouble with my knee. but it was only one stretch, so i didn't do it, so it was fine. then she taught us a combo that was really cool and pretty. it was definitely a work out since i havent done technique like that probably since before i tore my ACL. when we left, i didn't even put my coat on when we went outside cuz i was so hot. I'm gonna be sore the next couple of days for sure.

after, we drove 20 minutes to King of Prussia mall....the biggest mall on the east coast and technically the biggest mall in the U.S. it was amazing. I'm pretty sure every store you can ever want to go to, was there. oh plus there's multiples of some stores. like H&M. oh yeahh. plus there were sales at every store we went into. (YESS) so i got some good deals :) even though i will admit that i have way too many clothes right now.

when we got home, i noticed that everything that i got is all pretty much the same color. sweet.
i got the sweater and cardi at H&M both on sale, the boyfriend chords at banana republic for 17 and the headband/earwarmer from free people for 10. woo! i say i wear them all at once

on our way home, we were stopped in traffic on the highway literally 10 minutes from home. there was a really bad accident right ahead of it. we waited and waited for 30 minutes, and when we finally got right in front of the accident, we saw that they completely blocked both sides of the highway. so there was no way getting past. and people were going over the median to turn around. but we were in the small car and there was no way we were going to get over it. but the officer said we could make it, and wouldn't let us wait. he said "as long as you do what i say, you can make it over." so Carrie did what he said, but the bottom of the car totally still hit the median. stupid officer! but it was ok. we just laughed. and he was cool. then we finally got home. oh and we were STARVING this whole time and only had candy to eat....so we ate a lot of that while stopped in traffic. and after we got home, we went back out to get burger king. barf. but whatever.
today was bueno. even though my knee is already starting to hurt. boo.

right when Carrie got home around 5, we bundled up and went to our awesome hill to sled some more! it was already getting dark out. after a few runs, Carrie left to get food from the Amish market for dinner. Holden accidentally let the air plug thing open. so our sled deflated. but i tried snowboarding with it and was pretty successful :) then we decided to just roll around in the snow. and then eat some of it. and then some random guy tried to throw a snowball at us, but it hit a tree instead. so Holden yelled at them. and he thought he saw them getting more snowballs ready to ambush us, so we hid behind a snow wall and started getting snowballs ready for them. but they never came. so we threw them at each other. then rolled down the hill and tried to do some cartwheels.
all of my clothes were frozen. my gloves, my jeans, my shirt. plus my toes and knees and legs and butt. so sweet. me and Holden agreed that it felt like we peed our pants and we had bad wedgies. even sweeter.
when we got home i got right in the hot shower :)

luckily, Holden has actually been good with me since i got back...which has only been a week, but it feels like a month. but, he still has his SUPER ANNOYING moments...just not with me :)
